Take a few minutes to read this article on Claire Stretch, a fan of Spring. Claire has a very moving story and the courage to tell it. We can all learn from her, wether we have experienced mental illness or not.
Having a chat about Spring with the Team in Tasmania. They get far more of a winter than we do in Sydney, so they really need to jump into their Spring regime!
Wow – what a day to finish winter! Another morning walk on the beach today and it was perfect. There were people swimming, walking, running, surfing, playing….
The sun is out, the weather is warm and you can’t help feeling incredibly motivated to move. If this weather lasts for the month of September, we have no excuses for a day off exercise!
For those of you in less sunny parts of the country, take a moment to create your own ‘sunshine’. A little bit of gratitude for something that went well yesterday, something that you’re lucky to have or something amazing you’ve experienced can make you feel like new.
Enjoy the final day of winter and let’s look forward to a superb spring!
Claire Stretch, a participant and fan of Spring, chats on Channel 10′s The Circle about her experiences with depression and addiction. Claire explains how and why exercise helps her to stay well and encourages us all to sign up for Spring.

We’re looking forward to a crazy few days as the excitement builds. Remember to keep telling your friends – we hope that they love the idea as much as you do.
Train well,

With just 3 days until Spring, you can almost smell it!
After a few hours work early this morning, I headed down to the beach for a short walk and some fresh air. It was beautiful! Blue sky, clear water, only a handful of people… you could sense the change in season.
It’s important to remember that sometimes changing scenery for as little as 30 minutes is all it takes to get a fresh perspective on life, work, relationships… whatever it is that is driving you mad. So, my advice to you: step outside, move your muscles, take a deep breath and come back to your challenges with a new & improved outlook.
Here are some great links to coverage of Spring. It is very humbling to see how many people love this cause and want to support it. When a journalist calls, saying that they have heard about Spring and want to share it with their readers, it makes the hard work and late nights worthwhile. And when we get to hand our contribution over to the Black Dog Institute…. it’ll feel even better. Thanks so much for the support guys!
